Private Chef’s summer on Cote d’Azur

I love heading south in the summer to the Cote d’Azur for the warmth and for the food. Summer brought some eating adventures as well as a lot of time in the kitchen cooking for a lovely English family. Some new restaurant discoveries brought joy to my taste buds. For casual eating and great cocktails El Merkado is  a new Spanish Tapas bar in Nice https://www.facebook.com/merkado Venturing a little way from the coast Mougins has some nice restaurants in a lovely setting. Mougins offers hill top living with fine dining. We found a lovely little quirky restaurant (with a fab wine list) called Le Petit Fouet http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187232-d1068770-Reviews-Le_Petit_Fouet_de_Mougins-Mougins_French_Riviera_Cote_d_Azur_Provence.html (I had the duck pate and fish pie). For a true French restaurant experience this is worth a visit. Another little gem found this summer, courtesy of some friends, was a lovely place in Valbonne. Le Bistrot du Sommelier (another great wine list) was simple in its offering five starters, five mains and five dessert but with great choices (I had whitebait and Filet de Boeuf) dining alfresco made the experience even sweeter.  More to follow….
